Maroondah Weir
Had a day out with Granny & Grumpy Smith today and took the opportunity to pop into the Maroondah Weir for a visit. It was pretty wet (and absolutely freezing) so we didn't give the park the workout it deserved but there was a mini village there and Atticus delighted in running from house to house playing peekaboo with anyone in the vicinity. We'll have to go back again when the weather is not so arctic!

The A Team get their gear off
Had a play date with Grant & Aurora last night. Atti and Aurora played chasey and peek a boo in Atti's tent. Aurora fell in love with Atti's bike and musical chair and taught Atticus all about Blue's Clues of which he is now obsessed! After a hearty meal of lentil soup the pair were more than ready for some bubble time and of course a sing along!

Birthday Girl
Well, I turned another year older today. Got some cool pressies from family and friends including a whole stack of cds and a Donnie Darko talking Frank the Bunny action figure, sweet!
Spent the morning at Ambers playhouse with Mel & Aidan followed by the mandatory lunch at the pancake parlour directly after. I tried to feed Atticus part of my cheese and potato pancake but he was much more interested in the side salad (he's a very strange toddler indeed)!
Had some yummo Indian takeaway for din dins of which Atticus was very unimpressed but we made up for it with a cake, an opportunity to sing "hip hip hooray" and many candles (too many if you ask me) for him to help Mummy blow out.
Thanks to my two favourite men for making my birthday such a special day. I love you guys!

Atti's version of Uncle Andy's helmet
At least that's what he tells me!! I guess if I squint really hard (or shut my eyes completely) it looks soft of like a motorbike helmet?
We've had a great week so far! Playgym on Monday morning followed by a visit from Deb & Carlyn in the arvo (Atti and Carlyn really seem to be forming a little friendship of late and it's so adorable to watch).
Atti had a bit of a rumble in his tummy on Monday night but it seemed to have cleared up in time for him to play with Aunty Heather (my 'other Mum' from work) who came to visit us for lunch on Tuesday.
Happy 40th to Cherrie if you're reading this. You'll always look 25 to me gorgeous!

Mother's Day
For Mother's Day this year Justin, Atticus, Mum, Dad and myself went to the pancake parlour for some naughty brekkie. I had the blueberry pancakes but Atticus ate at least half of them which made for some really 'interesting' looking nappies later in the day. Atti & Daddy got me Fiona Apple's new CD which I've been playing on constant rotation ever since.
After breakfast Dad, Justin and I went to see Final Destination 3 (a lovely feel good chick flick ... not) and we were all suitably uncomfortable during the gory scenes (and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves).
A great day with plenty of quality time with my two favourite boys!

Not the best photos (I took them afterall) but here's some pics from Trent & Atti's playdate today. The boys are so similar in temperament. Trent would touch the music button on the learning table and that was the cue for the boys to run madly down the hallway shaking the maraccas! They were so adorable! Seems like ages since Lisa and I have seen each other too .... way too long ;-)

Badger Creek Weir
Atti and I spent the day in Healesville with Granny & Grumpy today and took the opportunity to visit the Badger Creek Weir while we were in the area. Much fun was having throwing stones in the creek, jumping in puddles and feeding the birdies. The were SUPER friendly/hungry! Atti didn't appreciate their scratchy claws on his head and had a bit of a lip tremble but overall he thought the birdies were very 'pretty' (at least when they were on Mummy or Granny anyway)!
