The Atticus Chronicles

Howdy Folks! After waiting very patiently for my husband to set up a web page for my son for almost a year I figured it was high time that I took matters into my own hands. Introducing our Family Blog! I hope to get on here fairly regularly to let you all know about the adventures of our family and to post the latest pic's of Atticus. Stay tuned ...

Justin and I went into the Mercy Hospital today to formally introduce Atticus to his Aunty Suzie. Suze is expecting triplets in two days and is really counting down the seconds until the big day now!

Atticus was very well behaved and slept almost the entire time we were there. The walk up the hill was a bit much on my poor sore tummy though.

Atticus tells me he's really looking forward to meeting his cousins. Hopefully they'll all be great friends.

Atti's first joy ride

Justin and I decided to have a go at taking Atticus out of the house today. After quite a lot of preparation (and very slow and nervous driving) we finally managed to get out the door to visit Nana. Atticus was very well behaved and if not for all the extra padding provided by his matinee jacket I think he would have slipped right out of the carseat he's so tiny.

Don't think there's much chance he'll be getting cold!

Welcome Home!

Arrived home from hospital this morning. I don't think we drove faster than 20 kph the whole trip home we were so nervous! After we'd unpacked the baby and put him to bed we were a little bit of a loss at what to do next ... it's quite scary being home alone with a newborn ... I mean what if we break him?!

Atti will be sleeping in Justin and Andrew's old bassinet for the next couple of months. It's great because it's on wheels so we can roll him back and forth over the tiles to sooth him and we can take in around the house with us wherever we go. He'll be in our room until he outgrows the bassinet and then we'll have to room him into the cot.

This is very convenient for me as it's the middle of winter and I don't fancy the constant trips back and forth to the nursery in the middle of the night much. The cats aren't at all pleased unfortunately as it means not only did we leave them alone for a week but when we did finally return we locked them out of our room! Hopefully this won't influence their feelings towards Atti.

I'm so relieved to be home!

Atticus Maxwell Graham

I was born Wednesday the 16th of June 2004 at 8.33am, at Waverley Private Hospital. I weighed in at 6 lb 11 oz (or 3.03 kg for the metrically inclined). I have quite a mop of sandy blond hair (Mum's is actually dyed black: if I'm not supposed to be telling people that I'll just stick to the fact that I was actually was born yesterday as my excuse). I'm very healthy and Mum's doing well. I've been feeding OK and Dad's changed a few of my nappies already (I'd do it myself but those things are gross).
