The Atticus Chronicles

Howdy Folks! After waiting very patiently for my husband to set up a web page for my son for almost a year I figured it was high time that I took matters into my own hands. Introducing our Family Blog! I hope to get on here fairly regularly to let you all know about the adventures of our family and to post the latest pic's of Atticus. Stay tuned ...

So close ...

Atti almost rolled from his back onto his tummy today (nappy on and all). We'll have to increase the incidences of nappy free time to see if this makes any difference. What a clever boy!

Here's the first pic of Atti that we've managed to capture of him smiling so far. It's a bit blurry (as he won't stop squirming) but it's undeniable that he's grinning (well as much as one can grin without teeth)!

I am never eating Indian food while breastfeeding EVER again!

It's horrible in his nappy zone and he is VERY ANGRY! He keeps waking himself up because of all the farting! I've changed his nappy three times in the last hour alone!

I so nearly got pooed on just before. Luckily I had just moved slightly to bend down to pick up a baby wipe when the bottom blew out all over the area where I should have been! That was TOO CLOSE!

MCHN 8 week appointment & Immunisations

Weight: 5014gms (48% percentile average)
Height: 55cms
Head circumference: 38.7cms

Took Atticus to the Doc tonight for his two month injections and it was HORRIBLE! He absolutely squealed (and then I burst into tears)!! After we had both finally calmed down the Doc informs us that there is still another needle to go so I think he'll be better off if his Dad takes him in future! He was over it in a minute though and slept from 11.30pm to 6am and then from 7.00am to 11am and now he's back to his normal two hourly feed self.

I always thought that when I had kids that my social life would be over and strangely I've never been so busy in all my life! We're going to have a devonshire tea in the dandenongs for Justin's Mums Birthday on Saturday and after that I have quite a bit of shopping to do. Sunday we have a friend popping over to check out Atticus for the first time and after that I'm off to see my three nephews ... I'm exhausted just thinking about it! How I long for a quiet night in with a pizza and a couple of cold coronas with lime slices! Bliss :-)

Atticus & "Aunty Bump" Posted by Hello

Thursday, August 05, 2004

Having an absolutely crap couple of days! Guess Atticus is just going through "that time". He's been very unsettled and screams for the boob, then cries and refuses to drink the boob, then drinks the boob and spits out the milk, then cries because I take the boob away! I don't think he knows what he wants!

I think he has a pain in his tummy (as I see him straining and his bum is all sore looking and he is doing some very scary farts and then crying afterwards) but it seems to be going away today (I did try to get him into the Docs but couldn't get an appointment until tomorrow). Hopefully he'll be so exhausted that he'll have a big feed and sleep tonight and wake up tomorrow as a new boy (fingers crossed).

Atticus must be going through a growth spurt at present as he's feeding every two hours. This is horrible as it takes him almost an hour to feed so by the time I've put him back to bed again it's only an hour until he wakes up again! Surely this can't go on for much longer???
