The Atticus Chronicles

Howdy Folks! After waiting very patiently for my husband to set up a web page for my son for almost a year I figured it was high time that I took matters into my own hands. Introducing our Family Blog! I hope to get on here fairly regularly to let you all know about the adventures of our family and to post the latest pic's of Atticus. Stay tuned ...

Daffy was cold!

Atticus found Daphne in his room snuggled up as close to his heater as she could manage so he decided to assist her in her quest for warmth but loaning her all of his blankies. They are such good mates :-)

Naughty Girl

Here's some pics of Atti's battle scars following an altercation at childcare. Apparently he walked into a cubby house that belonged to someone else. Poor little munchkin didn't know what hit him when the little girl tried to scratch his eyes out. Luckily he was all smiles a couple of hours later and hasn't suffered any psychological damage! God help her if I get my hands on her though Grrrrrr!

The Zoo!

Off for our first trip to the Zoo today. Granny, Grumpy, Nana, Pa, Nana June, Aunty Suzie, Uncle Richard, Tristan, Cooper & Rohan came along for the ride too. We had a great day! I don't think Atti stopped smiling once! Apologies in advance that I haven't posted too many photos of the actual animals ... I guess I was far too interested in the boys reaction to them than the animals themselves.

Atti's favourites (of which there were many) included the elephants, the lions ("big noise, go roarrrrr"), the monkeys, seals, pygmy hippo and of course the giraffes. I really don't know why I bothered to bring the stroller at all as he didn't sit in for the entire time we were there. In fact it really was hard getting any of the boys to sit still!

We had a lunch break next to the Macaws and were all treated to chocolate cup cakes with individual candles so that we could once again break into song and celebrate Atti's birth. We can't wait to do the Zoo again sometime soon. Atti had an absolutely awesome day and there was so much that we didn't get to see. Thanks to everyone for tagging along and making it an extra special day.

2!

My baby turned two today! Justin managed to score the day off work which was an added bonus as he would have missed out on all the festivities if not.

The day started out with a big pile of presents the off to our last music class where they had cake for Atti and everyone sang Happy Birthday. Atti was on fire and had the best lesson he's ever had. Lots of singing and dancing and absolutely no tears!

Granny & Grumpy arrived for a visit in the afternoon which meant another large pile of presents followed by a visit from Nana and a chocolate apple cake made by me and the compulsory candles and song. We also spoke to Uncle Andrew in Canada with some help from the web cam and Atti opened his present from Uncle at the same time (a Little Tikes car). He couldn't stay for too long to chat to Uncle as a consequence as he had to do some laps of the house ... the first of many!

A naughty Happy Meal followed for tea (what more do you want from me? I already cooked a cake!) and then while Atti was still in the bath another group of visitors arrived (Pa, Nana June & Poppa Max) with (you guessed it) more presents!!! The exhausted little man collapsed into bed shortly after to get some rest for the trip to the Zoo in the morning.

A Big Boy Bed!

We had Atti's birthday present delivered today (a little bit early as we're off to the zoo next Saturday). I really expected him to be a bit sadder at seeing his cot packed up but he didn't give it a second thought! He's loving his 'big boy bed' and is wanting to play in his room constantly and keeps leading all guests into his room to show it off.

The first sleep in it was a little dodgy but I put that down to assembly taking longer than expected and Atti being over tired. But the evening's sleep went fine (perhaps due to the assistance of one of those door knob guards) ;-)

How times flies and what a gorgeous little man my baby has turned into. I was a little sad seeing the cot go to be honest but I can't stop time and every day brings more and more joy so why would I want to?

The cats are also large fans of Atti's bed ... if only it wasn't so frequently used as a trampoline!
