The Atticus Chronicles

Howdy Folks! After waiting very patiently for my husband to set up a web page for my son for almost a year I figured it was high time that I took matters into my own hands. Introducing our Family Blog! I hope to get on here fairly regularly to let you all know about the adventures of our family and to post the latest pic's of Atticus. Stay tuned ...

Probably the only photo in existance of Atticus in his Babybanz. His eye lashes are way too long for them and they make him very cranky .. yet very cool at the same time!

My Daddy loves me Posted by Hello

Resettling has been really hard since we got back from sleep school! I feel like such a bad guy but I know it works as I've seen it ... just not since I've been home unfortunately. Still ... I guess he's showing me he's a very determined and intelligent little man to be trying it on like he is in the home environment ... at least that's what I'm telling myself!

Sleep School

I was really really nervous about going in to sleep school but I did know it's for the best ... just a bit horrible being away from my husband and kitties and sharing a room with a stranger in a strange place with a bunch of strangers telling me how to look after my baby ... I'm sure you know what I mean ... but I knew that they were there to help and I tried to look at it as an opportunity rather than an ordeal (was that the longest sentence ever)?

Anyway, after an aweful lot of crying initially (from both me and the baby), Atticus finally slept ... and slept and slept! Apparently he was catching up on lost sleep and it's just unbelievable how tired the little guy must have been! He's a completely different bub now. It's really just amazing the transformation that's taken place! I'd recommend this program to anyone as it's given me my sanity back and all the staff were so supportive.

I'm a bit nervous about getting home and having the routine just fall apart but I guess that will only happen if I let it. I have the tools now ... in theory!

Atti took a nose dive a couple of days ago ... not sure what's going on but I hope it's only a temporary set back. He now goes all shy too whenever anyone other than his father or me are around and stops talking ... weird. Atti also still screams in the car and won't sit in the pram unless it's moving (which makes meeting friends for coffee a bit hard). I know I'm becoming really house bound and inflexible but it's just not worth it if I'm not. Hopefully I'll be going to sleep school in the next couple of weeks and they'll be able to shed some light on the situation. Here's some pics of Atti in his Jolly Jumper (Mum & Dad got it for him as an early Xmas pressie) I think it's a winner!

Not quite sure ...

Couch Potato

Looks like we may have turned the corner with Atti's reflux as it's been a couple of days since he's thrown a full fledged wobbly so fingers crossed that the Losec is finally doing it's work! He's been a very happy and smiley baby of late and is constantly cooing and babbling to me ... it's really is music to my ears.
