Birthday Parties

We've had a stack of Birthday parties to attend over the last couple of months. Of particular note is Atti's fourth (sob sob) and Tristan, Cooper & Rohan's fourth a couple of weeks later! I'm not sure how the time has passed us by so quickly ... it's both exciting and sad to watch them grow up. I tried to explain to Atticus just yesterday that no what he would always be my baby to which he replied that he couldn't stop growing up because he likes to eat food too much ;-)

Time out for naughty kids

Don't even say it ... I know it's been a ridiculously long time between posts ... but my Facebook photo albums are impressive I promise you ;-)

We've been having some cat issues of late so we borrowed a crate to try and have both Floyd and Daphne in the same room as each other without blood being spilt. It didn't work so well for the cats but the kids love it! Josie and Atti have been known to spend a solid hour or two locking themselves in and out of 'jail' and posting toys in and then retrieving them ... it really was a shame to return it to the vet yesterday. Perhaps if they're good we'll get them one for Christmas ... or if they're especially naughty!

Josie's First Hair Cut

I figured since my hairdresser Lauren is due to give birth in a couple of days that I probably should organise for Josie to get her first hair cut. It wasn't in need of a lot of attention but I figured I may as well get her used to the routine in the hope that she'll put up with it without too much of a fuss. I shouldn't have worried ... one can never underestimate the power of a freddo frog to pacify a small child. Here's some before and after photos. She certainly isn't camera shy.

A BIG Ouchy!

Yesterday when I had Josephine in the shower she fell forward and hit her head on the rim of the doorway (as I was kneeling in it holding her with the door open) and gave me the fright of my life! She started SCREAMING and immediately the biggest, ugliest bruise I have EVER seen started forming on her head. I didn't think the swelling was ever going to stop so we called an Ambulance as I was terrified that she had concussion.

The Ambulance arrived about fifteen minutes later at which time Josie was quite happily playing peek-a-boo with Daddy and Atti. Apparently when she fell she burst a blood vessel in her forehead hence all the pretty colours on her noggin so rapidly but since she didn't lose consciousness or start vomiting they weren't really worried about concussion. I must admit that when they arrived I was a much bigger mess than Josie ... it took me hours to calm down properly.

I've added some pictures that honestly don't do the extent of the bruising any justice. We're going to have some very 'pretty' pictures of her for her birthday tomorrow!

I have no excuse ... I've just been really slack!

Here's so random pics from our recent trip to the Gold Coast. Who would have thought that a 'holiday' could be so exhausting! Next time we take a break I think it's best if we leave the kids at home ;-)
