A week at home

What started as a simple cold quickly turned into a chest infection for Atti and Bronchiolitis for Josephine so after two trips to the Doctor's and a visit to the hospital to check that Josephine didn't need some assistance to breathe we decided to take the week off and keep our germs to ourselves.

Atti's now well on his way to being back on track but Josie's going to need to do a bit of catching up with only a 120gm weight gain over three weeks. We're all a little stir crazy though ... me more than them I suspect.

Happy Birthday Aidan!

It was Aidan's 3rd Birthday today (I still can't believe it either) and an enormous inflated Dora the Explorer jumping castle was certainly the highlight of the morning as far as Atticus was concerned. The birthday boy himself was uncharacteristically sombre and withdrawn ... perhaps it was all a bit too much? I know how you feel buddy ... I feel exactly the same about birthdays ;-)

Here's some gorgeous pics of Atti and Aidan at music classes today. It was an animal themed day and although Atticus may look like a cat ask him and he'll tell you he's actually a Dimetridon ;-)

Well she actually has been smiling for ages but he's the first time I've actually been able to capture it with the camera!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Had a bit of a quiet one for my birthday this year (if you include sharing the day with two screaming children 'quiet' that is)! Seriously though it wasn't that bad. Spent the morning at the pub playing with one of Atti's many girlfriends and for dinner Mum and Dad came over for some Mexican and a VERY naughty tiramisu cake! Atti and Josie presented me with the second season of Twin Peaks on DVD and Justin gave me a bundle of very pleasant smelling things from Lush. I've been thoroughly spoilt ... and now if you'll excuse me I'm off to take a bath!

The Results

Well the results are in and apparently although Josie does have a small hole in her heart it's not something that the Doctors are concerned about. We have to repeat the echo in six months time to monitor it's progress but really they aren't expecting any trouble from it and probably won't do anything to fix it even if she doesn't grow out of it (which they do expect her to). It is good news (although it could have been better). I guess it'll just something that's always going to be in the back of my mind .
