The Atticus Chronicles

Howdy Folks! After waiting very patiently for my husband to set up a web page for my son for almost a year I figured it was high time that I took matters into my own hands. Introducing our Family Blog! I hope to get on here fairly regularly to let you all know about the adventures of our family and to post the latest pic's of Atticus. Stay tuned ...

DJ's

Spent a lovely morning with Melissa today having a facial, hair cut/style and pancakes! I really could get used to this lifestyle!!!

Thanks Mel for a great suggestion. We'll have to do it again soon.

The Dreaded Loogie

This week has pretty much been a write off for us as Atti's bum started being VERY scary on Monday morning and hasn't shown signs of slowing ever since. The Doc said it's a virus (which has since been passed on to both Justin and myself) so we've pretty much been in quarantine for the week and let me tell you it's been one of the longest weeks of my life!

I should also mention that I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Mellie on Sunday night and we both enjoyed it immensely. Thumbs up from me (that Robert Downey Jr is very tasty eye candy indeed).

My slinky princess turns 4

Happy Birthday Daphne Zuniga my beautiful princess angel lady. MWAH!

Mel & Ella visited today and Ella a big fan of little Floyd. If only Atticus could learn to be as gentle with him as Ella is. His idea of a cuddle is a full on body slam! The poor little kitty. At least Atti is still on "L" plates with the whole walking thing and Floyd can quite easily avoid his affections.

Floyd Graham

I picked up "Floyd" Graham this morning. He is so timid! He spent the majority of the day hiding behind the curtains and sleeping. He is super affectionate though and is a large fan of the pipe cleaner just like his uncle Monty. He's hard to take pictures of as he's not really into posing just yet but I promise to post a picture soon.

Had a play date with Sharon, Amey & Katie today and Atti and Amey spent a good part of the visit in Amey's room jumping on the bed! This is a big deal for us because Atti doesn't usually leave my sight. It was so liberating to be able to drink a cup of coffee without having to balance a toddler on my lap at the same time! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and I can look forward to many more afternoon teas where the ladies lounge on sofas and drink cups of tea while the kids go off and play?

Healesville Sanctuary

Spent a lovely arvo with Amy, Grant & Aurora today at the Healesville Sanctuary. The kiddies thought the animals were ok ... the play equipment a lot better ... and the tan bark very tasty!

Monty's Nephew

Received a call from Monty's breeder Michele this week to tell me that she'd had a sale fall through and that she could offer us a kitten now or we could wait until the next litter of kittens in March. After much deliberation we decided to make the trip out to South Morang to meet the little fella who is coincidently Monty's nephew.

Thankfully he looks nothing like Monty and is predominately white with exceptionally pale blue eyes. I'm hoping he will be a good companion for Daphne in particular as she's been fretting quite a lot since we lost Monty.

Good night sweet prince

Monty passed away this morning. He was at home and didn't suffer.

He started struggling to breathe last night and so we called the vet out this morning. She said that this was the point where surviving turned to suffering and that the cancer in his throat was making it difficult for him to breathe so the choice was made really easy for us (the actual procedure not so easy to endure). He's in the front yard now and we've planted a Japanese Snowball tree on his grave to remember him by (I thought white fluffy blossoms were very apt).

Feels like someone's ripped my still beating heart from my chest at the moment ... but I'm told that time does wonders.

It's just not fair. He was two years and three months old. Justin and I will miss him dearly and sadly Atticus won't remember him at all.

The Ipod Video FINALLY arrives

At long last the Ipod Video that Justin's family and I have been scheming about for the past couple of months arrived just a fraction too late for Justin's Birthday (which just made his Birthday last a little bit longer)! We had it engraved too with "Happy 30th Justin". He did about fifty double takes when he opened the wrapping paper and another fifty when he realised it was engraved.

I suspect he might have been surprised.
