The Atticus Chronicles

Howdy Folks! After waiting very patiently for my husband to set up a web page for my son for almost a year I figured it was high time that I took matters into my own hands. Introducing our Family Blog! I hope to get on here fairly regularly to let you all know about the adventures of our family and to post the latest pic's of Atticus. Stay tuned ...

Not so silent reflux ...

Who would have believed that lightning could have struck twice in the same spot?

After a couple of weeks of Josie's constant screaming we took her to the GP on Wednesday to rule out some physically being wrong with her and Sue seems to think she's showing all the classic signs of silent reflux just like her big bro. Of course, in the back of my head I suspected as much but who would have believed we would have to go through this twice!

Josephine is currently on a course of Zantac and I have to take her back if she's not improved within a week to have a chat about what the next step might be (probably Losec). In the meantime we've elevated everything (at least we know what we're doing this time), started wearing the baby whenever possible and have started to accept the vomity smell that seems to be almost constantly in the air. This too shall pass ... hopefully sooner rather than later!

On a positive note, Atticus seems far less phased about the crying than I'd imagined (he's coping far better than I am that's for sure) and is very helpfull and loving in his attempts to 'kiss her and make it better' and to sing her to sleep. Bless him ... he really is an angel.

Walking with Dinosaurs

Atti, Daddy and Pa went "Walking with Dinosaurs" today! I'd organised the tickets ages ago thinking that it would be a special thing to do that was all about Atticus a couple of weeks after the arrival of his sister and it turned out to be a HUGE success!

All three boys had a great time and Pa even bought Atti a special "Dinosaur Wand" that makes Daddy turn into a dinosaur whenever he's touched with it. Needless to say the house is currently dinosaur mad although I doubt this interest will eclipse that of sea creatures any time soon ;-)

Please note Justin's beard is currently three weeks in the making ... hopefully it will only be on display for the next week at the very most!

Josephine Daisy Graham has arrived!

Josephine arrived this morning at 9.30am weighing in at 3.4kgs or 7 pounds 8 ounces. Here's a bit of a collage of pics taken on and around the big day. I'm recovering well from the caesar and after a couple of days under the lights due to jaundice Josie is now home and growing like a weed. Atti is a very proud big bro and is constantly checking on his baby sister to ensure she is ok. I'm a wee bit nervous about how I'm going to cope juggling the two of them once Justin returns to work but luckily that's not for a couple of weeks so hopefully we'll have it all sorted out by then.

I'm so happy/relieved to be home and thrilled to finally meet my beautiful little daughter (although I'm still trying to work out who she looks like exactly). Thank you to everyone for all your kind wishes over the past couple of days and I promise I will return all emails and phone calls eventually!
