A way great play date
Caught up with Grant & Aurora on Sunday and thought since the weather was a bit on the cold side that we'd hit a local play centre instead. The little tikes had heaps of fun swimming in the ball pit, bouncing in the jumping castle and very briefly attempting to break the sound barrier wizzing down the slide. They are such good mates and play so well (and gently) together. It's always a joy to watch them.
Ouch!
Typical that since I'm so damned scared of needles that when I went to have my blood tests on Monday the girl was unsuccessful in obtain a spot of blood despite three tries. I bravely tried again on Wednesday and after having the first vein stop pumping blood (as I was freaking out) we tried once again and finally got the quantity needed for the first (of MANY) blood tests to come. Please tell me this isn't going to be a trend for this pregnancy ...It goes without saying that Atti is going to be nowhere near me when I have any of these tests done ... I really don't set the best example (although I wish he was there to hold my hand and kiss it better).
Dr Anderson
Had my first catch up with Dr Anderson (my obstetrician) and apparently all is well so far. He said that he suspects that I'm a little further along than I think too but will wait and see what the ultrasound results say in a couple of weeks. I asked him why I seem to have popped out so early in the game and he replied that I'm retaining quite a lot of fluid ... perhaps a very polite way of telling me I'm going to be huge???I'm so tired all the time at the moment and just can't seem to get enough sleep. I'm also very sick with morning sickness (which I was spared when I had Atticus) so it's all a bit 'interesting'. Atticus caught me throwing up in the shower this morning and started laughing hysterically saying "Do it again Mummy". It was nice to know that the girls at childcare got a good laugh out of the situation too as he'd told them all about it by the time I picked him up! Farewell dignity ... I knew you well ...
