Atti's first babysitting date

Both sets of Grandparents were left in charge of Atticus this afternoon while Justin and I had some MUCH needed time out. I very much doubt he even noticed we were gone he was doted on so much and the amount of photos taken of the event will take years to sift through! It's lovely to know he is so adored.

Weight: 4268gms or 9 ponds 6 ounces. Atti's put on 914gms in two weeks!

Although I have no photographs to prove it yet, it's a fact that Atticus started smiling today (I know it's hard to believe from the stern looks I'm getting below)! Justin and I are thrilled ... those gorgeous gums make the sleepness nights worth every second.

In other news Atti's had a horrible cold for the past couple of days. Justin and I have invested in a vapouriser for him (that looks more like a spaceship) and it's extremely effective in removing the wall paper from the wall if nothing else.

Atticus contemplates his Mummy ... is that mild concern or just plain disapproval that I can read in his furrowed brow?

Shopping Trip

Justin and I took Atticus to Knox City today and did our first feed and change in public. It's amazing how much crap you have to pack into the car to accomplish this! When Atti got hungry Justin dropped me off at the parents room in Myer and came to collect me about half an hour later. Atticus refused to go back to sleep after that ... I guess there was just too much to see! He didn't cry, just laid back and stared at all the lights and colours. He's so well behaved.

Bliss!

Atti slept through for first time last night (6 whole hours). Justin and I are both startled and grateful. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come?!! Usually he wakes up for a feed every 3 hours (or occasionally every four) and the feeding takes about 45 mins so I'm getting very short doses of sleep (around two hours at a time) and it's sending me a little bit batty. Making myself a cup of coffee with cold water or putting my purse in the fridge isn't an uncommon thing at this stage ... but Atti's certainly worth it.

We've been having a lot of crying of late (and not just from the baby)! Atticus has been screaming almost constantly while he's awake and Justin and I are at our wits ends as to how to pacify him. Perhaps he's having a growth spurt? He's grown out of his 0000's almost overnight but I'm not that surprised as he's been wearing them for almost a month.

Justin and I left Atti with Diane & David (and some boobie milk in a bottle) yesterday and went to see Harry Potter. Apparently Atticus was an absolute angel in our absence! We'll have to do that more often, say once a month or so, as it was SO GOOD to get out of the house and to switch my brain off for a couple of hours.

Mothers Group

Atti and I attended our first Mother's Group meeting today. He was very well behaved and slept through most of the proceedings. I seemed to be the oldest Mum in the room with the average age in the early twenties and I really didn't feel that I fit in at all. I'll give it another go next week but I'm starting to think that I can live without it.

MCHN Appointment

Atti is 2 weeks and 6 days old today. He weighed in at 3060gms or 6 pounds 11 ounces. Finally he's back to his birth weight!

Atti's Orientation

Justin and I took Atticus in to work today to show him off. He was amazingly well behaved considering I spent the time passing him around a room full of strangers and didn't let out a single cry the whole time we were there. I only realised half way through the visit that I was wearing a nappy over my shoulder ... new hot fashion trend ... or perhaps just a case of exhausted Mummy brain!
